Black Lives Matter
Silence is not an option.
COVID-19 Update: The Pantry is open and keeping to our regular hours; Saturday 10 - 12, Monday and Wednesday 2 - 4. We are following the CDC’s guidelines and working hard to be safe while meeting the increased needs in our community. But we need your help. Please Donate. If you are low-risk, healthy, and comfortable doing so, please volunteer. Thank you for taking care of yourself and others, because no one should go hungry on Martha's Vineyard.
Food Justice and Racial Justice
George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Tony McDade. Ahmaud Arbery. Rayshard Brooks.
Black lives matter.
At our Island Food Pantry, food access and equity are the heart of our organization. No questions, no explanations – we are here to provide food for our community.
Food justice and racial justice go hand in hand. We cannot fight for one, without fighting for the other.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, we have been flooded with support from you – our island community. You showed up when we needed you. You showed up with food, money, your time, your energy.
We have seen what this island community is capable of. We have seen this community mobilize to demonstrate its values and bring about change in times of crisis.
We need to stand with our community to face the crisis of white violence and silence. We need to show up.
We, as the Pantry, commit ourselves to being part of the fight against systemic racism.
We have work to do. We will listen, we will educate ourselves, and we will take action. We welcome suggestions and resources. We are working to define our action points.
In the meantime, we will continue to provide wholesome food for all who come to our door. Monday 2 – 4, Wednesday 2 – 4, and Saturday 10 – 12.
Our Mission
Together with our many volunteers, partners, and supporters, we help sustain our neighbors in times of need by providing a dependable source of wholesome food.
Because no one should go hungry on Martha’s Vineyard.
